TBT: Battle of Oneself

The roads stretch on and on all around,
Dry and hot for miles not a single sound.
Thoughts bounce in the skull with much speed,
Contemplating the most current and basic need.
Don’t halt the inevitable journey for long,
Soon tired ears will fill with lovely song.
Keep treading and the body will always reach,
A place some imagine is as sweet as a peach.
It can be reached when the will is great.
Iron builds strong tall bounding gates.
Open to small paths leading to the beating.
It will beat loud and clear forever needing.
Enter the fortress if you posses the courage.
Only in mastery of fear will you receive suffrage,
From the dark prison, built around us all.
Breath easy, your safe, so stand tall.

Been a While

It’s been a while

Since you’ve hurt me this badly

It was just a matter of time sadly

When I needed you, you weren’t here

You were out with friends drinking beer

And more? How will I ever know?

I guess it wasn’t even that long ago

That you blew me off and blew someone else

Then made me feel the fault was in myself

So talented at making me the bad guy

While you have fun and roll so high

All the while blaming me for your deeds

Leaving me with my unfulfilled needs

Then mocking me for the feelings I have

Holding my broken heart as you laugh

And spit in my face while I cry

Hurting me to the point I’d rather die

Blood will Blot the Sun

Poem I wrote for upcoming book: Sureshot the Assassin

When you take a man and ruin him

Then blood will blot the sun

You beat him whip him torture him

Then blood will blot the sun

You try to break his spirit within

Then blood will blot the sun

Betray him though he be your kin

Then blood will blot the sun

Toss him in the lions den

Then blood will blot the sun

Laugh and spit with an evil grin

Then blood will blot the sun

Break his heart and pour in sin

Then blood will blot the sun

Make the man an assassin

Then blood will blot the sun

Beware of his retribution

Then blood will blot the sun

His arrows will pierce your skin

Then blood will blot the sun

Bold snow capped mountains

Jagged majestic ridges

Beautiful and bold

Jewel

Precious jewel buried in rock

But simple stone you are not

Your angels are sometimes sharp

Your words pierce me to the heart

Other times you are so smooth

Catching my eye when you move

Light reflecting from your angels

Eye shining bright as an angle’s

Hewn from rock and cut in beauty

Like emerald topaz and red ruby

Better still, like unbreakable diamond

Together forging an everlasting bond

TBT: Night of Decadence

Poem I wrote about prom 20 years ago. Cracks me up to read poems from high school me.

Pretty, glowing, cheerful girls all in a row,

Well dressed, handsome gentlemen ready to go,

So many soft, elegant dresses white as snow,

On her ear his soft breath softly blows.

A night under the clean bright stars so high,

Their bright light gleams radiantly in the sky,

Down below in the rusty dirt of the Earth,

The night gave way naturally to evil’s birth.

Dazed and confused and driving too fast,

In a bloody and morbid instant, part of the past.

Fair maidens too ignorant and too young,

In nine months must to the hospital run.

But have fun, please have fun,

And hope it’s not horribly glum,

For on this night your life could be done.

So soon will your beloved presence be forgotten.

Beware the date, the dance, on the night of decadence

Words, lessons, wisdom
All falling victim
To your whims and fancy
Your beloved technology
That sucks your time
And numbs your mind
Hijacking your thinking
While your snaps are sending
You reject learning
In favor of playing
Headphones pumping sound
Eyes always looking down
Refusing to be taught
In a web you’re caught
Your freedom an illusion
Sowing seeds of your own ruin
Declaring that you’re woke
But all your words are choked
You don’t want an education
You only want more relaxation
