Dadda! Dadda! Dadda!

Why do they call me so incessantly?

Can’t they see?

How tired I be

And how I need

to rest

Dadda! Dadda! Dadda!

Sometimes it’s so difficult

To endure all their calls

For cups

For snacks

For anything

Dadda! Dadda! Dadda!

God I love them but sometimes

I just need them to mind

And not call me every minute

Especially when I’m on the toilet

Leave me be

Dadda! Dadda! Dadda!

I know that I’ll survive

But sometimes I have to strive

Not to just run away and hide

Or wish I weren’t alive

I need some rest

Live free my children
Dad will never leave your side
Run, grow, live, laugh, love

My Baby Girl
My head’s a whirl
I can’t believe you’re thirteen

Growing so fast
Childhood is past
And now you’re a teenager

Shining so bright
Beautiful life
Spreading love and joy around

No challenges
Nor callouses
Could ever halt your journey

You’re so strong
The road is long
But I’ve no doubt you’ll endure

You’ll always have
You’re loving Dad
To support you every step

Bonus Birthday Poem for Eli: Champion

Dragons roar
Bows bend
Steel swords sharply clang

Beasts in caves
Growl and snarl
Show their bloodied fangs

Battles rage
Enemies slain
And heroes succumb and fall

Damsels cry
In deep distress
A champion they call

Arrows fly
Tipped with flame
Deep into the night

Sending all
From their homes
Scurrying with fright

Who will help?
The meek and mild
Survive through the dark

Stop the world
From being torn
Savagely apart

Elijah will
Brave and strong
Protect those in need

Noble and pure
His sword will set
The innocent free

When justice is threatened
You are there
When someone needs a friend
You are there
When your brothers need help
You are there
When there’s work to be done
You are there
When there’s fun to be had
You are there
When soccer’s being played
You are there
When a book needs reading
You are there
When the bullied need a champion
You are there
When there’s bridges to be built
You are there

I will always love you my son
All the days my life’s race is run

Terrible dad, I forgot to post Landon’s birthday poem!!!

My loving Landon
Full of life
Love and laughter

You lift my spirits
With your hugs
Always happy after

When you smile
Love and beauty
Shine from your spirit

All who know you
Are drawn to your joy
All long to be near it

So tender and soft
Gentle touch and kisses
Just as a butterfly

Fluttering on clouds
Beautiful and free
Soaring in the sky

So proud to be
Your dad, your father
I’m with you always

Never leave you
Never betray you
For all remaining days

Reduced to Dust

A hard, thick, stubborn Rock stood strong
Able to resist storms all season long.

The Rock remained unchanged for ages
always solid
always hardy
always present
Was always there through weather changes.

The Rock didn’t fret as a storm approached
storm raged
storm roared
storm struck
Storm attacked and the Rock broke.

The Rock shattered, reduced to dust
dust in the wind
dust in the sea
dust in the earth
In spite of its strength the Rock was crushed.

The landscape forever changed without it
Though it is gone, those who knew will not forget.
